Palmeira’s Vineyard: Alicante Bouschet 2012

Originating from Vinha das Palmeiras, at Herdade dos Perdigões, where Alicante Bouschet was first planted 10 years ago.
It is only made in exceptional years and the result is an intense experimentation and collaboration between Herdade do Esporão’s winemaking and viticulture teams. Involving the vinification of small blends of the same grape variety from different plots, in which the final goal is to understand and enhance the character of each grape associated with the type of soil and microclimate where it is grown.
The result of these continuous trials is the launch of these unique wines, each variety producing limited quantities.

Tasting Notes Complex aromas of dark berry fruits with notes of cigar box and leather. Rich fruit with robust tannins, well structured, and a long persistent finish
